I am using a wd elements hdd on imac. The hdd was initially encrypted simply by right clicking the drive and putting a password. After a few months the hdd stopped asking me for the password. As a result of this i tried to decrypt and then encrypt from scratch. However now when I right click the hdd it reads “decrypting…” indefinitely. Needless to say I can any longer access the mp4 files inside the drive. Any idea how to resolve this?? I am afraid If I try to clean/repair I will lose contents…
