WD DX4000 help plzz!

yes it is raid 1
You can try mstsc with Admin again. It says the disk ar not initialized which takes time, but I am concerned you log file is not as long as mine is

did you compare the 2 thumbs?

Ok, yea i did try to log in with Administrator and Admin as password but still it says its wrong :unamused:

Is there no way i could maybe go in to root files of the recovery to see what is the password. If it does not except my password or the Admin password what is it then? There must be a way to find itđŸ€”

either setup is not completing therefore there is no logins available or somehow your keyboard is not sending Admin

You can take the left hand drive out and slave it to a pc and look at the files recovery laid down. I am not in my office right now and it is not turned on but I think the password is in a cfg file in a panther directory under windows

You could also use something like 7-zip to compare the checksums of the .swm files between the mounted iso and the created thumb drive to make sure it is laying the files down properly.

If you have any AV other than Microsoft uninstall it.

hi, i took out the left drive and connected it to my pc.
the only file i found that contain any password in the panther directory is “unattend” and its a XML File:

Im trying to send it on this chat but it doesnt come out right

This is the recovery txt file from the PANAM recovery flash:

I managed in a way to get Windows Server 2008 running but was kinda tricky and i dont think its right.
What i did was, i looked at on how the WindowsServer2012 was constructed (The modified version that has TightVNC integrated) and i basically just changed a few files and copied the Windows Server 2008 setup files to the directory where 2012 was.

I inserted the thumb that contained the modified version of Windows Server 2008 and i managed to log in and went through the setup process. Once completed, i then just logged in with the Username as “Administrator” and password as “P@ssw0rd” (Which was the default login details of the modified 2012 Windows) those details i found in a XML file called “unattend”

the problem is with that is, i was only able to use CMD on the desktop, nothing else. i tried running several commands like , control panel ect but it wouldnt allow me. I managed to open taskmgr with that and i was able to install a program via CMD but thats it, nothing else.

one of the main error i used to get after the PANAM recovery and after everything was successfully installed, recovered etc is “Logon Failure; user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced”

thats on the main login page after mstsc as Administrator

Yes Admin is the password in the unattend file and your Panam log file looks fine.
You got a voltmeter to test the battery?
Could you see the date with the hacked 2008 install?
For some reason the unattend setup is not happening and it is not making Admin the password.

I could use my tongue lol nope i dont have a voltmeter. do you think it can be the battery?
nope, couldnt see the date. i just had a CMD

Well you say have checked the checksum for the iso
you have tried different thumb drives
you leave the pc on until the wizard completes.
The log file looks good

My thoughts are that setup might not run if the bios is set to 1989

Ok, but the cmos battery can cause the wrong date if its flat right? Is there not a way i can access the bios of the server?

No way to get to bios without video that I know of

Ok

I dont know what to do now :disappointed:

Cant i change the password now that the drive is connected to my pc?

Or if i can find a way to edit the recovery files, WIM, SWN etc
i know about Deployment and Imaging Tools that i can might tweek the Recovery files but thats a bit too complex

Hi Gramps, well i decided to install Windows Server 2012 R2 an it works. The only prob i have with that is the LCD and the fan speed. Do you have an idea on how to program the lcd? I tried this method but its kinda complicated:

WD DX4000: Building Windows Server 2012, part 3 – the LCD | BLUGGED

That dude is a lot smarter than me. That looks like the ticket though
