WD DX4000 help plzz!

No clue how your drives are now. You may need to start from scratch. diskpart, recreate, recover using the diff thumb drive

Hi Gramps, sorry for the late reply.
Tried it all again and it still says wrong password :frowning:

I dont know what else to do. I managed to get windows server 2012 install but only through TightVNC. It works fine but only shows that i have 1 drive installed becuase it says i have 1.75tb space left.

The dashboard works fine its only the lcd that doest respond, just saying Loading OS.

I then tried everything again but this time using the recovery process and then after that connection with ThightVNC. It doesnt want to connect via TightVNC so i have no idea why it doesnt want. I can still ping it though.

Did you try the recovery using a different thumb drive?
Tight VNC only works on that special download

You have tried the up and down arrows on the lcd when it says loading OS?
Do it with a different thumb drive and let it sit for five days before you try anything and see if the loading OS goes away

Yea i did try all that.
5 days:scream::scream: omg, there must be another way.

The arrows dont do anything when it says Loading OS

Cant i integrate TightVNC into the recovery ISO? Ive also noticed that there is a cmos battery in the server, is it possible that it might be flat and in some weird way its not registering the password?

I do not know how to get vnc in there.
The battery would not affect the password, but it could the date.
The date being off is one of my guesses as I obviously have no clue. And somehow that affects the certs or signatures of the files. But you said when you did 2012 the date was close, not off 6 months or 2 years.
The other guess is the hard drives are initializing and the box is running slow and has not completed setup when you try to do stuff. That is why I suggested you wait 5 days. Are the drive lights active?

As well if you could try MSTSC from another PC It should take Admin as the password before you run setup. Did you try no password?

Yea the drive lights is all active and i did try on another pc to connect remotely which th admin password etc but still does the same. I also tried with no passwords but still wont let me in.

Any idea why only one disk show up on windows server 2012?

2012 you looking in diskmgmt.msc ?

Ummm, i just check on the dashboard/storage, disk management and diskpart

after recovery i took out the thumb and plug it in my pc. I saw in the root of the thumb there is as text file called “ServerRecovery” so i opened it. MAYBE THIS WILL HELP:

logs look fine to me (I think, let me check mine)

Okay thx

Are you using the APAC ? I see you have an os4.swm. I am using PANAM and only go to os3.swm
Are you leaving the client PC on in the wizard the entire time? I have a whole lot more after the reboot at the end of yours.
do the log files look exactly the same on the two different thumb drives you have tried?

Use the panam iso if you are not, select erase all data and lets look at that log file this is the end of mine. I also highlighted two line mine has yours does not

Whats APAC? I didnt check if they difer on both thumbs but will check. I will also run the full format when i do the recovery then will send the logs or see if they difer.

Yea my wizard stays on just till after i add the password, time etc then it says i can connect to the server but when i do it says wrong password

I left the server on now since morning so will see what happens. Its saying Loading OS

Ohhh i use the EMEA and i tried the PANAM one too

No I mean leave your pc on in the wizard until the recovery is complete. Not the wizard you get when you surf to //servername

yes if you do it again uses panam so we can be on the same page

Yip i do leave it on.
Ok, but how long you think i should leave the server on? Its now on since this morning. I just have 2 drives in my server so its RAID 1 right?
