WD Discovery v WD Smartware Pro

I have have replaced my 15 year old My Book that has just failed with a new larger My Book.
15 years of use is very good so no complaints there.
The old My Book came with WD Smartware which I am still using.
The new My Book comes with WD Discovery.
My question is: Is wd discovery a replacement for wd smartware that retains the smartware functionality?
I back up multiple internal drives to multiple external drives, can discovery do this?
I would read the manual if I could find it.

As WD Smartware is end of support. So the new drives have WD discovery.

I have tried to install WD Discovery but it has failed to install 3 times is there a fix for this?
