Is there any way to turn off WD Discovery creating a shortcut for my drive every time I log on to my computer? It’s so irritating as much of my screen space for work purposes.

My Cloud Home desktop icon will disappear from the desktop if you sign out the My Cloud Home from WD Discovery app. But sign in My Cloud Home will get back this icon on the desktop.
WHY DOES A NAS require an active internet connection you ppl got this right with the My book live DUO.
How do we prevent the app from making the shortcut in the first place?
The app is launched, we are connected to it, why the need of the desktop shortcut?
