WD Blue WD10EZEX run in 5400 RPM?

WD Blue WD10EZEX specification is 7200 RPM.

Is possible configure (firmware ?) WD10EZEX to work only in 5400 RPM ?

Thanks for reply.

Hi @aug,

Please refer to the article to check the compatibility of the drive:

Why do you want a 7200 RPM HDD to run slower than it was designed for ?

I can only really think of heat being the only reason … and if that’s the case, you should have bought a 1TB SSD

I want understand and test with “old” chipsets.
Is or not possible configure to run in less RPM speed or other setting with same result (spread spectrum jumper) ?

good luck with your testing poindexter
