Hi so I just recently bought the WD Blue 1 tb WD10EZEX on 8 Aug. I tried to transfer a 41gb file to it. It copied about 3% before it stopped and my whole computer suddenly kind of froze (can move mouse but cannot open other programmes like chrome). I went to check the drive using hard disk sentinel and it states that the performance is 100% but the driver health was disappointing 9%. Is the drive defective and is it possible to get an exchange for it
if you are present in this forum I assume you have an user account on WD ?
if the drive is under warranty send it back to your local retailer
if you bought it online you can register it on WD website and fill out the RMA form
the SMART log will tell you whether the drive is dead or not but I suspect it is.
