I still have mine. Been using it around 10 years now.
Mine is my primary storage device. Has all my pictures, videos, music, documents, backups of my PC’s and a bunch of VMs. Not a gamer so no game storage.
It has 4x2TB drives in raid 5. Not the fastest, nor the largest but gets the job done. I have an even older Netgear ReadyNAS to backup most of the EX4. Had the Netgear before the EX4, so it’s only purpose is backup the EX4 (minus the PC backups and VM).
Since it’s so old, it’s no longer supported by WD. You can’t access anything on it outside your local network. You can’t easily install other apps to run on it. You can’t even upgrade to the latest OS for it.
