USB to Serial UART Console Access for PR4100 / PR2100

@Sty, I know this is a really long shot as 6 years have passed, but how did you resolve your issue with the WD PR4100? Have you managed to get access to it though the UART? If yes, then how? What was causing the problem at the first place, being blank in PuTTy?
I am asking, because I am facing the same issue. I cannot see anything coming through the serial port. Tested with loop and the serial converter is working, but nothing from the UART port of the PR4100.
Of course, the PR4100 is not booting, just the power LED flashing blue and showing the Welcome message on the screen. The device does not show up on the network either, and did not manage to boot from any USB drive.

So, if you managed to resolve the situation, I would appreciate if you could give me some hints what was the problem with your device.

I use this one for PR4100. Works great.

have not played with USB to serial since my old packet ham radio days
Raspberry pi groups may have the item if people need them.

Which JST connector is this actually?

PH 2.0 . Cut from the extension cable to Type-C .

Thanks! I need to cross check what JST I have at home, likely the XH 2.54, that’s why it didn’t fit.

I used a clip set, but quite uncomfortable.
