Unable to unlock My Passport / access my data

From time to time I am facing the following issue:

  1. I connect my “My passport” with my windows laptop
  2. I open the “unlock.exe”, type in my password and click “unlock”.

Then, usually the folders / storage of “My Passport” opens, but not anymore. Sometimes it works after removing and inserting the device 20 times, but right now not even this helped.
When I conduct these two steps and nothing happens and I open again the “unlock.exe”, I can’t unlock the device again, but the following error message appears: “This drive is not locked. To unlock another WD drive, you need to have the WD SmartWare CD and application associated with that drive …” the rest is cut off.

Can anyone help me with that? I really need to be able to access my files!

No one has any solution for this. I am putting in a correct password, and it still says in correct password.
