Unable to connect My Cloud to iPhone X iOS 14.2

I am unable to connect to LAN-based WD My Cloud via the “Files” application since upgrading to iOS14.2 (possibly, earlier than that) on my iPhone X. The network drive is visible and connected to other devices on my LAN via wifi. I am not setup to access this network drive externally via the web.
I tried unsuccessfully to connect to a server - wdmycloud.mycloud.
I saw a recommendation to use “NetPortalLite” - I am trying to avoid using 3rd Party apps.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Just tried this. IOS 14.2. WD MyCloud 4.05.00-342
In Files app
Server: wdmycloud.local
Registered user w name and password as used in Windows 10 or MacOS.
All 6 shares defined on my MyCloud are visible in the Files app.
Browsing files does not show hidden files (and probably shouldn’t)

Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately it would not accept “wdmycloud.local” - The operation couldn’t be completed. Invalid argument.
I successfully pinged wdmycloud.local from my PC.
Solved the problem by installing the My Cloud OS 3 application instead of using the Apple’s “File” application.
