I just purchased the WD My Book Essentials 2TB External Hard Drive but I’m going to return it if I can’t solve this simple issue.
Before buying this product, I phoned WD Support and asked if this was possible. The representative said it was, but I can’t seem to find out how to enable this option.
I want the drive to remain plugged in (USB and power adapter) and do not want it to turn on automatically when I start my computer. I want to keep it OFF at all times. I simply want to turn it ON and OFF manually by pressing the power button on the device.
How can I do this?
