Trying to put my Passport 1 5TB into a MAC Wifi environment with TP-Link

I am trying to connect my Passport 5 TB for Mac to my TP Link DECO WiFi, for Time Machines from several different Mac devices, as old Time Mach backup drives shall not work anymore.

got usb c to ethernet adapter, however PPT 1 5 TB no showing in my WiFi, as not getting enough energy from DECO to start up. While connecting to my Time Machine Disk (powered) by USB-A is showing up with no issues,

Any idea on workarounds, it works perfectly connecting directly to my MacBook Pro

Yeah the Deco USB port probly isn’t giving enough power for that 5TB drive, those bigger ones need more juice to spin up. Try using a powered USB hub or just switch to a drive with its own power supply, should fix it

Thanks a lot, that’s a clear reply that I never got from WD. Just got a NAS drive form another brand and keep the WD for Tavel, even though total oversized for that purpose…
