My drive was showing as empty, when looked at through ‘Devices and drives’ on my PC, despite having loads of stuff on there. Often it would crash too. So I decided to format the drive and start again. However, when I try (using WD’s Data Lifeguard), I get the error report as “Too many bad errors detected”. No I can’t do anything with the drive at all. Any advice?
Hi River0745,
Unfortunately, it seems that your drive has failed due to bad sectors. You should contact WD’s Support to get a replacement drive under warranty period.
