We propose to use a G-Raid 2-drive array configured as RAID 0 in connection with video editing.
-
Is there any reason that this would be inappropriate?
-
It appears that the Thunderbolt cable that ships with the G-Raid Thunderbolt 3 unit is marked “20Gbps”. As Thunderbolt 3 is spec’d at a maximum of 40Gbs, is there a reason that this cable is limited to 20Gbps?
-
Or is it a matter that the RAID 0 configured drives can’t operate that fast anyway?
-
In that connection, it appears that the larger capacity drives are faster. True?
-
Are there any other drive selection options that might improve drive access speed? To more completely take advantage of the full bandwidth available from Thunderbolt 3?
-
We would like to position the G-Raid further than 3’. Can we use an “active” Thunderbolt 3 cable with this unit? To extend the distance?
Thanks for your insights.
