The drive won't connect to my computer; the internal connector disappeared

The internal connector on the back of my external hard drive disappeared inside the device, and so I cannot connect it with a cord to my computer.   I have data on the drive and need to be able to use it.   Can it be repaired?   I bought it less than a year ago.  I don’t have any of the original paperwork, I don’t even know what model it is.   Can I send it in to WD and have them fix it?  Is it covered by warranty?   If not, can it be repaired?  It just needs the connector that the USB cable plugs into.

I would suggest you calL wd then find a data recovery agent. They could probably direct you or repare the usb port tha will give you enought ime to get your data off the drive. Then if your under warranty replace it.

try talking to wd tech support they can refer you to some data recovery agents
