I have a pretty old (but reliable) external had drive for backup purposes. I shut my computer down and left for vacation. When I got back its not showing up on my computer anymore. I’ve unplugged it several times, shut the external drive down and my computer, and rebooted both. Still nothing. External drive starts up and the light stays solid! Any help would be appreciated.
Try plugging the drive in to another USB port.

Have you try to plug the device to a different computer or TV or something. Maybe you should call WD technical support.
