System won't let me format my 400 GB My passport to NTFS

Hello,

I think I had this drive (  WD4000ME)  formatted as NTFS before, now I deleted all my stuff and formatted the drive using the “My computer” and then click on format. No matter what I do I can’t format it NTFS, it says “windows was unable to complete the format”. it only allow exFat format. How can I fix this?

Initially the formatting didn’t work and I thought the drive was damaged, then I deleted the partition completely and then created a new one and NTFS format and it worked!
