For anyone else reading this, the short answer is “No”. The long answer is “Maybe. But not the way you describe”.
Although you may see an upgrade available in the SqueezeCenter config screen, until WD (and Logitech?) package an upgrade to the App itself, what you have now is all that’s available.
When and if an upgrade to the App is packaged and made available, per page 100:
On the navigation bar, click Apps to display the Apps screen.
If there is an update for one of the apps you’ve added to your device, an Updates available link displays at the top right of the screen.
I find it irritating that WD indicates that SqueezeCenter app is only supported by Logitech and that Logitech doesn’t recognize or support the app in any way.
I am a long time user of SqueezeBox devices and Logitech Media Server. This app is not a very good ‘port’ of the actual server software available from Logitech. Wish I knew this before I transferred all of my music over from my old WHS (about 200GB)
