SOLVED: Replaced WD Passport does not pass complete drive test on Mac

My original 1T My Passport did not pass the complete drive test, so I returned it to WD and just received the replacement. This one also does not pass the complete test in WD Utilities, although it does pass the quick test. I have unchecked put hard disks to sleep when possible in System Preferences.

Should I run Mac’s Disk Utility/First Aid or return this external drive? Will running Mac’s Disk Utility void the warranty on my Passport? I never backed up any data on either drive.

Thank you.

Hello,

I see that you edited the subject of this post and added “Solved” to it. Can you please share what was the solution to this issue?

I plugged the external hard drive directly into the computer rather than the USB strip, and it completed the test successfully.
