just got a black sn850x and use it with Hyperdrive enclosure. Speeds are there and no worries about performance but I’m a bit concerned about the operating temps I see through istat menus on my Mac. Idle temps are 54-56 and when I pushed a bit by writing 500GB at once I saw up to 77 celsius for a while. I know that with these enclosures it’s hard to keep temps down but I wanted to ask if these temps are worth worrying. Thanks in advance for any answer - opinion.
Did you put in the thermal pad?
“Only 1 thermal pad will be needed to be placed on the enclosure. It should be placed inside the NVMe SSD designated area on the enclosure piece with the HYPER logo. The other thermal pad may be kept for future use.”
