Replacement longer USB cables

The cable that came with my drive is too short for what I need it for. I need something at least 5 ft to keep the drive where I want it. I did buy a 6ft cable from Amazon (Amazon Basics), but although the drive lights up, it never establishes an actual connection that Windows recognizes and mounts the drive.

Has anyone used a replacement cable that works? This is a 3T MyBook, just bought this week. It is a Micro-USB 3.0 port on the drive. The computer end can be either a Type A or Type C.

I dont think WD has a longer cable but there is nothing to loose by trying.

I found out the reason it doesn’t work is because the extra USB 3.0 pins in the computer end of the cable became smashed into the back when I plugged it in.
