If only one person has read/write access and another computer has it open as read only, won’t the one with full access still be able to open it as read/write?
depends on how access and windows handles this. to seperate an access/windows issue from mycloud create a windows share a read only user and full access user, have the read only user open the file then with it still open try the full access user
I had a read only user open the file and it has opened as read only. Then I opened it with full access user while the file was open and it also opens as read only.
It seems to be very temperamental, it actually removed all the user settings at one point but kept the shared files. Also changed the name of the workgroup, almost as though it had been partially reset.
With regards to the user access, i have had to change the access status settings constantly before it has accepted those settings so I could set up a network drive, almost as if it doesn’t sort it first time. This was after rebooting the computers and also rebooting the WDcloud drive.
I realise i may be waffling on here so apologies but frustrated that I can’t seem to get this set up the way I want.
