Please Help - WD Pasport - unable to access files

Hello,

I am unable to access files on my WD Passport external hard drive.

When I plug the hard drive into my computer it is not recognised, I am unable to open the files. The drive also emits a wrring tune for about ten seconds.

Any suggestions on how I could rectify this problem?

The sound you have described may indicate a hardware fault. If so then the hard drive will need to be replaced under warranty.
