Php.ini file replaced on reboot EX4100

I’m having some trouble while trying to configure Joomla.
The problem is the file size restrictions for posting and uploading, i’ve tried to replace the values in the php.ini file with something more suitable than 0, and from what i’ve read on various forums, I came to the conclusion that my EX4100 has to be restarted for the changes to take effekt in Joomla.
But here’s the fun part, every time i reboot, my EX4100 replaces the php.ini file with the “old” one, hence rendering my changes mute.

any inputs on how to fix this?

The unit’s OS checks for file integrity. Some advanced Users make the file read-only after edits are made in order to prevent overwriting, but this is not warranted or supported by Western Digital.

what is the easiest way of doing this? currently i’m using ProFiles extension in Joomla to access and edit files, but changing the files permissions in ProFiles didn’t to the trick. even though i made the file read only it got replaced

SSH is the most common approach.
