At a small office i recentily removed their windows server because it was overkill and decided to just use the WD MyBookLive instead. Everything is working perfectly except I wanted to know if there is a way i can backup the mybooklive directly to some sort of online backup. When the server was hooked up i had used carbonite but from what i read carbonite is not compatible with NAS.

My main question would be if you are using backup software to backup data to the MBL from the other computers in the office? If you are using the included Smartware, these backups are stored in a protected area of the drive and cannot be accessed through Windows Explorer. If it is just data that is stored in a shared folder or to a share that is mapped via Windows, your online backup option might let you point to the mapped Network drive via the drive letter assigned through Windows.
