No MyCloud APP DB needed

I use “My Passport Wireless Pro” 3TB as backup device only.

I have a backup of 80’000 songs and about the same amount of photos on the device, wich makes it unusable. The system is busy checking media data and building up the content database for the myCloud App.

It seems, that it needs hours without success (after some time all LEDs are blinking until I turn off and on). Then the scan restarts …

Is it possible to stop that media scan?

As mentioned, it’s a Backup device only, no need for Plex, Twonkey and myCloud stuff …

Access dashboard, go to media tab and turn off DLNA server.

Hi, thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, on the media page I have the following options:

Plex Media Server (not downloaded)
Twonky Server (is off)
Content Control (content count is running, but all media on 0)
SD Card (copy new on)
USB device (copy new on)

There is no option to turn off DLNA server.
Under Content Count I have the option to rebuild the content database, but no option to not use it.
Under Wi-Fi I unticked the option “Share content on this network”

I have version 1.04.17 installed

Why can’t I see DLNA server options?

Sorry, I referred to manual rather than turning on my drive. I just checked and the DLNA setting has been replaced by the Plex/Twonky combinations. I have music mp3 mainly but no issue with building database.
I suspect the data base build is also used by the onboard Linux to set usage/free space in the dashboard and may not be able to turn off.
Perhaps WD staff will visit and clarify, otherwise contact WD support to see what is possible. Let us know what they say.

I remember, I’ve seen it sometime ago, however, on the new Firmware, I can’t find a way to disable it.
I’ll contact WD and let you know, if there’s a way to switch it off through SSH or another way …
