I’m not getting a green LED light showing on the front.
I have the latest firmware. When I was updating the firmware the light was purple, then rebooted and turned blue, then red for a little while and then the red went out and now nothing on the front…no LED’s at all.
I can access all of my files, go into the UI, make changes and everything. I can here the drive working/spinning but no LED.
Same problem here, but mine has been off for quite a while.
I saw it light up red and then green during a power cycle a while back, but not anymore. I just updated to the newest firmware (MyBookLive 02.10.12-129 : Core F/W) and still no LED.
The drive can be accessed with no problems but I would like to have the indicator working in case a problem should arise.
Something that may or may not help you but after “not” seeing or recognizing the “green” led for a long while and all of the sudden it started again.
I’ve noticed that the green led is “very dim” almost to the point that unless your in a darker room and eye level with the led you won’t see the green led like you can the red, blue, etc colors.
This is just on my drive and not sure if this is the same way but I ask each of you to possibly turn down your lights and get eye level with the led because even as the way mine is…its very hard to see even when its running/blinking.
That’s not the case here. The lights are usually off or really dim, so dim that I can see the network activity light blinking against the wall behind mybooklive. The led was bright before it decided not to show itself. The red led shows during a shutdown/reboot but that’s it.
My LED light went blank and I can’t access my drive… Any ideas? Called support and they say that they don’t do data recovery… The data recovery services charges an arm and leg.
Baggymahem, I’m with you on this. This has been going on for a while and the only feedback is “maybe the led is so dim that you can’t see it”. How about some real support here.
When I contacted WD about my LED, all they could offer as a “fix” was to do an update.
Really?!?!, an update will fix a fault LED? Does WD really think their customers are that stupid. The reason the LED doesn’t work, is that WD has decided to use low quality parts in order to increase their profits.
WD doesn’t care about their “customers” once they have your money.
