It depends. You’re downloading an 8 GB file (approx.). What kind of internet download speed do you have? It’s taken me up to 4 or 5 hours to download a 4-5 GB file, and I’m running about 10 MB’s per second download speed. Also, are you using wireless or wired? That can make a difference as well. I’d let it run overnight, and see where you are in the morning.
It took 8 hrs but I finely got it downloaded. Am proceeding to do the recovery. Thanks for the info.
Some ISP’s may also throttle your download limit if utilized for an extended period of time…
i have an issue , my dx4000 8tb has sufferd today from power drop , and my ups was not connected ,Â
now it says " Loading OS Please Wait" for about 12h,Â
if i download the recovery image , and do the proccess , i will not lose my data that was saved on the device ?Â
or should i wait ?!Â
thx
Bill
I followed the directions of the recovery perfectly. I unlocked the drives. Rebuild storage and it was “Ok” then i started the recovery process. I had a message for 4 days that the drives were being formated. The process went to about 65% and then i received a message that my workstation lost contact withe the server. This is the second attempt and I get the same message. No power loss. UPS backup everywhere. I did not even go near the workstation. What could be the problem. I cannot access the server at all and now i have the message 0xD9. Help
Sorry, was out of the office Monday. This is outside my scope of knowledge. You will need to contact WD for help with this.
I had the same issue. I took the individual drives out and connected them to a PC with the WD LifeGuard diag tool on them, and ran the smart test. I have one drive that fails.Â
I am not sure how this could break the raid5 and make the dx4000 unusable, except maybe for the fact that its the 1st drive and it needs that boot block to setup the raid?
I am currently trying to figure out if I have to RMA the whole device or just the one drive.
Looks like I will have a new individual drive here tomorrow.Â

I also need the ISO-File.
Where can I download it ?
Hello All,
The Server Recovery ISO file has been temporarily removed from the Support site.
We expect the ISO to be available again for download in a few days (~early to mid next week). We’ll report back on this forum once the file is available.
Thanks,
Vineet
The new ISOs are up.
