Network drive and exFAT

If I connect to a network drive (exFAT) as opposed to connecting it via USB, will the media player work with it.  I just put a ton of movies on the new WD wirless passport which ships as exFAT and per the advertisement of the media player, the drive is supposed to be compatible. Nothing was said about having to reformat the disk.

Network drives aren’t seen as exFAT – they’re seen only by whatever protocol you’re using to access it – Samba, DLNA, NFS, etc.

So yes, it will work.
