How could you have bought a Netflic-capable Live Hub for Sweden if Netflix wasn’t even authorized there until today? I think you are mistaken. Traditionally, Netflix-capable WDTV devices do not go on sale in a country until after they are approved by Netflix. A Live Hub can not be made Netflix capable by a firmware update. It requires certain hardware to be present.
I’m not mistaken. It was there when I bought it. But I couldn’t login because it was not supported in Sweden at that time. It disappered after a few days.
WD mabe made changes to their Geolocation services. It may be they “disabled” netflix due to an issue with the CURRENT firmware and the scandanavian NetFlix system.
Same thing happened a while back when NetFlix Canada launched, and again with NetFlix Latin America.
So, I guess just be patient and see what happens…
It might be fixed with a coming firmware update.
BTW, there’s no such thing as WDTV Live Hub Gen 3. There’s the WDTV Live Gen 3, and the WDTV Live Hub. :)
You may get the Netflix service back on the hub but it probably will not work with Netflix Norway / Sweden. The hub is unable to work with Netflix in the UK for technical reasons which will probably also apply to Norway / Sweden.
What did they write to you? The answer has been deleted for provacy
Did they tell you it was possible some day or never possible? Community Manager tells us, that it will NEVER be ppossible to get access to Netflix via WD TV Live Hub…
The same here. Live in Denmark was there, was removed with firmware update and now Netflix works in DK it’s gone… **bleep**
If you have a WD Live HUB and you live in Denmark it does not matter if you get to see the Netflix icon or not, it does work in Denmark due to technical reasons. It also does not work in the UK for the same reason.
