I live in Thailand and need to purchase a new handheld remote control unit for my WD TV Streaming Media Player. Can anyone assist please?
I have tried to register a case with WD Support but the webpage first of all didn’t recognize the Serial Number and then asked for Model Number with giving me a box to enter it. Needless to say, I am not impressed by the online support options!
I have purchased genuine new WDTV remotes from eBay, so search it for your WDTV model and just buy what you need.

Allan you don’t have too. If you have a smart phone, you can use it as a remote. Just download the App for free . https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wdc.wdremote&hl=en
Maybe the OP WANTED a remote (he already ordered one) and doesn’t want to use a phone as a remote since he doesn’t live alone and the remote is used by him and the whole family. Not everyone wants to use a phone as a remote. I sure as heck don’t.
Thank you both for the feedback. I do have a Smartphone but its a Windows phone and I note the app only runs on Android. In any event, I do prefer a separate remote control device and have already ordered one through eBay.
Incidentally, on a related note, I have a second media player from another supplier .This is an Android device which I use primarily for IPTV from an outfit called UK Expat TV but it can also be used for playback from an external HDD. This box is controlled by a WiFi connected mouse which works well. It’s a pity that WD don’t offer a similar option their TV Media Players.
The universal remote works on them too, I only use one to control my entertainment system . . There is a lot of them there…infact I bought mine from Bangkok ( MBK ), a few years ago before I retired from the service. I am still using it . .
I thought you are going to advice him to find the master browser remote . … lol . . : )
