Hello community, I have a Windows 10 Pro device, three Windows 10 Home devices and a single bay WDMyCloud 2T. I had to reinstall the Windows 10 Pro OS recently. I noticed that the Windows 10Pro machine displays the WDMyCloud icons in the Network view with generic icons. The Windows Home show the correct icons. Also, under Device Manager, I see that Window 10 Pro and Windows Home assigns the WDMyCloud differently. The Windows Home Device Manager has the Western Digital NAS Device in its own section. How do I go about setting up MyCloud on the Window 10 Pro to appear like Windows 10 Home? I attached images of each example for your reference. Thank you!
Which version of pro and home are you using? Have all your computers been updated to 20H2? I have three Windows 10 Pro 20H2 so they show the same icons.
@cat0w thanks for replying. Yes, all devices running 20H2. When you say same icons, which ones do you have? The generic or WD ones? Thanks again.
My mistake. When I looked I see that the icons on my desktop do differ from what is on my new Laptop. I haven’t looked at my old Laptop. I’m not sure what causes that.
I wondering if @Bennor knows???
No idea how the driver for Western Digital NAS shows up in the Windows Device Manager. Best guess to see if you can install it, is to step through the option to Add legacy hardware in the Device Manger, select Install the hardware I manually select from the list and see if Western Digital NAS is listed and can be installed or added.
Note this is on a Windows 10 Home PC that properly displays the My Cloud icons.
