MyCloud EX4 Rebuild failure / 2nd drive bad upon failure

Hi,

1 of 4 drives failed. Slot 1.

Bought and installed an exact replacement, installed in Slot 1.

Manually rebuilt Volume 1.

Rebuild failed and another drive, Slot 3, is bad.

Should I now purchase a 2nd new drive for Slot 3 and initiate another build?

What are the chances of a 2nd drive failing upon replacing an existing ‘bad’ one and rebuild failing?

Hi thomasbrigantino,

I would suggest to first check the status of RAID under RAID Management using WD Drive Utilities and need to replace drive if found to be bad. There is no confirmation of chances of a 2nd drive failing upon replacing, but would suggest to use compatible power adapter to power the enclosure.

Running RAID 10 and I have had this happen a couple times in the last couple years. NOT good!
