My wd passport is unreadable through pc but can be accessed through my tv screen

I have a wd passport external hard drive (My Passport Essential SE USB 3.0).
When I connect it to the pc I can’t see its content. It’s ureadable. I also tried other computers.
However, when I connect it the tv screen I can see all the photos.
Is there a way to retrieve its content through the tv? Or another way?
It’s a regular tv screen. Not a smart tv.
