My Passport Ultra Wireless Drive

I’m no longer able to access my files on my external drive, when I try to access the files I get the error message G:\ is not accessible. Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Would anybody be to tell me what the problem is?

Did you drop it? I have dropped and broken 2 Western Digital drives and the result is the previously mentioned message. Also, it can be caused by pulling it out of a USB connection without ejecting it first.

No I haven’t dropped it. My worries is that I won’t be able to access my files,do the files backup to a cloud? if not, it there anyway to retain my files?

I’m sorry, but I do not believe so. I searched for a straight month for a solution, but to no avail… I will continue to search, but dont get ypur hipes up… is the warranty still active? If it is, then you should immediately contact Western Digital and get a replacement ASAP.
