My passport Ultra for Mac El Capitan

Hi! I would like to know if a WD my passport Ultra 2to works with Mac El capitan? I bought it two years ago and it works very well in my Mac but now that I changed the version, it doesn’t appear in the Finder and I can find it! Do someone know how I can do?

Hello,

the drive should work without any issues on your new computer.

I recommend you try some basic troubleshooting:

1- Disconnect the drive from the computer and restart the computer.

2- If the computer is a desktop, connect it on the back USB port (directly to the PC, not through a hub).

3- If possible try another USB cable.

4- Go to "Disk Utility” to verify if the drive shows up there.

If the drive shows up in "Disk Utility” but it is not seen on the computer, then it means the partition is corrupted and you will have to format it in order to use it again. Please note that formatting the drive will delete all data stored on it.

Hi thanks for the answer. I tried what you said but it doesn’t work and still doesn’t appear on the disk utilities… Maybe I have to try on another Mac with the old version to see if it appears in the finder. Because I don’t want to lose my photos etc…

Hi! Erase all WD apps on your Mac and reboot!
I had the same problem with El Capitan and I found this solution here in the community. Many users solved that problem uninstalling the WD apps… Unbelievable…
Let us know if that fix your problem!

Thank you very much!!! It works! Omg I’m so happy.
