I have my Passport Ultra 2TB, it worked fine until a week ago, now it takes forever to load and then it hangs and when I try to play some video I can’t jump to a certain location and during copying a file it hangs and speed drops to zero. I have a lot of data in it, I can’t even copy so I can’t take my data out of it.

Please Help.

Have you tried to conned the drive on a different computer or using a different USB cabe to see if this helps?

I tried both of these things and same problem occurs

I recently ran tests provided by “WD Drive Utilities” and Complete Drive Test fails while the other two have passed. I don’t know what that means or how to rectify that problem.

I am having the exact same problems, but with the 1TB. On “WD Drive Utilities” only the first test passes and everything else fails. I have read a few post and I still do not see a resolution. I opened a ticket to WD for support and never received anything back from them. It is like they know something is wrong and don’t want to confess to it by helping anyone.

I recently got in contact with a WD support agent, he asked me to do a bunch of stuff and to send him the screenshot of the results, I did as he said and now he ain’t replying.

How does one format WD External HD 2 TB?

Typical. There is no law to protect consumers against this type of companies. Next time, don’t buy WD products.
