The LED light on My Passport for Mac keeps flashing rapidly when not actually doing a backup.
I have contacted WD who said to run Disk Utility to check the drive. I have done this and no errors were found. WD say therefore that nothing is wrong with their drive.
I am worried though as I believe that the unit should be in standby mode (with the LED flashing slowly) apart from when it is actually doing a backup.
I have tried changing the USD lead but that doesn’t make any difference.
I also have the same problem when connecting the drive to another Mac computer.
I have contacted Apple who say that it is a WD drive problem.
Not sure what more, if anything, I can do to resolve this.
Can anyone assist please?
