How does one get the light on the My Passport for Mac to turn off? It is always ON. Is this a defect?

LED light on My Passport for Mac indicates the activity on drive and changes it’s appearance as per the activity running in My Passport. Steady state of LED indicates the idle mode while fast flashing or slow flashing shows the read/write activity or system standby mode respectively. You may refer page #3 of My Passport for Mac for Power/Activity LED user manual from below link.

Thank you. Never received this with my purchase.

Find that the lights seem to stay on for hours…….thus very slow compared to my G-Technology drives.
