My "MyPassport" not recognizedThanks in advance for support

Having a portable external My Passport drive for some years but not used. Fixing the cable in usb-port in the pc browser is only to be seen under “C” F: WD Unlocker. 

Request: may I reformat the drive My Passport and installing new software? All data is old so of no importance. And which software? Where to be found? 

Search on WD but only than I found WD My Cloud software which we use also.  But this drive is an extra drive. I am using Windows 7 on this laptop.

Hi there and welcome to the WD community.

I believe if you try to put the password incorrect 5 times you will get a prompt to erase the drive since it is the way that you will be able to use the drive after its locked.
