My Cloud EX2 Ultra - Streaming videos on iPhone on the go

Hi everyone !

Do you know a simple and cheap way to watch .avi or mp4 files on iPhone?
I downloaded the My Cloud app and when I launch the videos, it automatically opens VLC, which doesn’t work
And Plex costs 112 € for the complete version.

MP4 (or preferably M4V) containers with h.264 video and AAC audio should play natively to the app since that format is 100% Apple compatible.

There’s other formats that iDevices will play natively (and thus the app) – just make sure the videos meet those requirements.

As for Plex costing 112 Euros? What’s that about? I use the Plex App on my DL4100 at no charge.

If you’re looking for Plex to do the transcoding for you, don’t expect that. The WD NASes simply don’t have the horsepower to transcode on the fly.

Thank you for your reply! When I use Plex on my iPhone to watch my movies, here’s the message I get:

Basically it says I can pay for the Lifetime Plex Pass 170 € or 5,50 € to unlock the restrictions on my iPhone.

Is there a simple solution like the app DS video from Synology?
