My Book Pro usb3 works but thunderbolt has stopped working

I’ve tried everything except a clean install of Sierra and I don’t feel like doing that now. Has anyone else came across this problem. My laptop is mid 2015 and has two ports that work but their is no other laptop I can try the my book pro on. Could two ports like that go bad that quick. Now what? My data is locked unless I cramp up next to the drive on a short usb 3. Can I RMA this?
