I just installed a 2TB My Book Live external networked drive and I’m having trouble getting my Windows7 system to work properly with the drive.
I also have an XP machine on my network which can see the drive and mount drive/shares without issue. My Windows7 machine was able to go through to the DHCP IP address and can see the setup configuration screen (web setup tools) but I can not see the drive to mount either the drive or the shares on the Windows7 system.
In WD SmartWare, I have a message displayerd “No writable WD SmartWare partition found”. I tried updating to the latest version of SmartWare (1.5.0.18), but that didn’t help.
Running the MyBook Live setup program from the disk that came with the device on my Windows7 system does find the drive successfully through the discovery process. When I click “Next Steps” and try to open the drive, the program crashes with a runtime error.
Can someone give me some help to make this drive work with my Windows7 system?
Thanks
