i have a WD my book essential and after not using it for a year i plug the hard drive in and it burn the controll card inside… i open it and took the hard drive green and place it on and external case … butt now the hard drive dont work i find out that it is enkryted and it will not work… what do i do?

i suppose you could pay a data recovery company to retrieve your files for a cost $$
if you don’t care about losing your data … just format it

Using wondershare data recovery i am geting all my files and can use the hard drive after recovering files and formatting the drive… Excellent … Muajajaja
