The USB connector came off the circuit board in My Book 1TB. As with any decent drive I bought an enclosure and put the WD drive in it. USB is recognozed but I cannot see the drive in Windows Explorer window. Tried reinstalling SES driver to no avail. HELP, HELP, HELP as I need the files that only appear on this drive!!! Running 64 bit Win 7 with USB 2.0.
If you have one of the my books that supports hardware encryption, you wont be able to access your files unless the internal hard drive is connected to the case. If you go to the disk management window it should be there, but you need to format it to use it, and that will of course delete your files.
