Hi There,
i am a little confused about what i am doing. i currently own the following:

Desktop Computer
-
My Book 3TB
-
My Passport Essential 500GB
i dont want to keep anything on my desktop computer as its not big enough, i want it all on the two external hardrives. i was hoping to use the My book for all my important photos, documentation and small business files and then use the passport for less important things that can be more portable.
My confusion lies with the back up software. how does it work and can it benefit me if i am using the hardrives in the manner above? does the back up only back up my desktop computer and store it on the hardrive or does it also back up whats on the hardrive and store it somewhere for access if the hardrive dies?
i was hoping to have the information stored on both my hardrives and then also have a backup of both just incase. have i misunderstood the designed use of the WD backup software?
