My Book 2T- can it be used to backup multiple computers?

I’m new to external USB drives so this may be a dumb question but…

I have 3 PCs on a home network. I just installed the My Book on my main PC and did a backup - all went well. But, can I use it to back up my other PCs too? Will My Book (using the WD Smartware software)- be able to distinguish the different computers as I move it from one to the other? In order to not mix up the files?

I wouldn’t use the WD SmartWare software to do this. If you are backing up multiple machines, your best bet is to use 3 different backup utilities, or use one that stores the data in a single file (such as Windows Backup) this way you can easially tell them apart.
