Lost space

Hello

I have a WD 1T MyBook Essentials SN - [[DELETED]].

I had only 2 - 25 GB images on it and it became red indicating it was full.

If the drive is 1T with the software hidden but not removed it is still  900GB.

I was told 5 system restore points are the reason it was full but this cannot be as 5 - 25GB restore points and 2 images should not fill a 900GB drive. Is there a way a  non tech can take care of this and find out why the space is missing.?

I have 2 images on it I do not wat to lose.

i also have another WD external drive with 2 TB which works well.

Any help would be appreciated. My skill level on a scale of 1-10 is about a  6.

Thank you

Hello there, you could enable hidden files and folder and go to the properties of each folder and add them up. That and checking if the trash can has information that you can delete.

Hello

I hilighted my external drive J: then emptied the Wiindows recycle in which also emptied J:.

Then I did the same for external drive K: and it too emptied, when I emptied the Windows bin.

I now have regained the space I used to have and still have my images.

I do not know if I had to hilite the drives but did so anyway b/c I did not think the pc wod know which to do…

I found this by Googling and was leery but it seems to work. Would you agree?

I have entered your advice in my Imaging folder for future reference and, thank you for it…
