MyBook Home Folder Reads "This folder is empty" - Files lost?

Had Exploit Blacole Virus attack computer. System restore got rid of virus along with virus protection scan. However my WD MyBook Home external drive reads “This folder is empty” when I click on drive. The drive still is showing that is have 160.9 GB of space used. How do I get it to show again? Is it possible that the virus can wipe out the external drive? It was not open at the time of attack.

Please help. Important data and photos.
